Fashion 101

"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only.  Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening." _ Coco Channel

Each and everyone has their own sense of fashion, which is constantly changing due to one's attitudes and perceptions of the word FASHION.  The statement above can be argued in many ways as some people believe the opposite.

From my point of view, fashion is not a style but one's interpretation of what lies within.  You may not be the most extrovert of all your friends, but bright and bold colours that stand out from your completed outfit truely shows how daring you are and how you would prefer to stand out from the rest and not be classified or be associated into groups of common ground.
The latest trend for 2012, are His & Hers items, being in love, living life: young, wild and free, BBM and the Motto amongst the youngsters: YOLO- You Only Live Once.  These trends are becoming more of a "monkey see, monkey do" trend, so that the youngsters could feel a sense of belonging to a certain generation or group of friends.  What happened to our embedded knowledge instilled into our process of decision making when we were younger?

Fashion to me is all about being comfortable, expressing yourself truthfully bearing in mind your values and norms that were instilled into our knowledge when growing up, which clearly defines what is acceptable or unacceptable and what is right from wrong.
Clothing wise, would mostly consist of casual wear during the week and on weekends it could vary up until semi-casual.  Simple yet classy is the look and trend among females.  When dealing with males: SWAG and the GENTLEMAN characteristics are the expression of everyday wear.

In conclusion, Fashion is a statement, not a style.  It does not have to be worn casually, nor outside the runway.  Fashion is fit for all sizes, for all people of all ages.  Its an art of personal self-expression, not an excuse to be pretty, popular and charismatic.
